چکیده

IPEC solver is a windows program designed to analyze the stability of core-shell interpolyelectrolyte complexes formed by complexation of oppositely charged block co-polymers. The two-dimensional size distribution (number of anions and cations) of the complexes is calculated based on the scaling model of block co-polymer aggregation and Poisson-Boltzmann theory for electrostatic interactions (VA Baulin, E. Trizac, Soft Matter, 8(25), 6755-6766 (2012)). Salt effects, charge distribution and distributions of small ions around the complexes are calculated numerically as a function of chains composition and solvent properties.

Field-Theoretic Simulations of Polyelectrolyte Complexation

This viewpoint article is intended as a brief introduction to the emerging subject of field-theoretic simulations (FTS) of charged polymers. While the direct numerical simulation of field theory models has begun to impact several traditional areas of polymer science, including blends and block copolymers, polyelectrolytes have hitherto not been the subject of field-theoretic simulations. Herewe...

Single-step microfluidic fabrication of soft monodisperse polyelectrolyte microcapsules by interfacial complexation.

Common methods for fabrication of polyelectrolyte microcapsules rely on a multi-step process. We propose a single-step approach to generate polyelectrolyte microcapsules with 1-2 μm shells based on polyelectrolyte complexation across a water/oil droplet interface and study the effect of parameters controlling the polyelectrolyte complexation on shell thickness.

Simulation of Strap-On Boosters Separation in the Atmosphere

A numerical dynamic-aerodynamic interface for simulating the separation dynamics of constrained strap-on boosters jettisoned in the atmosphere is presented. A 6-DOF multi body dynamic solver ،using Constraint Force Equation Methodology is coupled with a numerical time dependent Euler flow solver. An automatic dynamic mesh updating procedure is employed using smoothing and l...

Overcharging of a macroion by an oppositely charged polyelectrolyte

Complexation of a polyelectrolyte with an oppositely charged spherical macroion is studied for both salt free and salty solutions. When a polyelectrolyte winds around the macroion, its turns repel each other and form an almost equidistant solenoid. It is shown that this repulsive correlations of turns lead to the charge inversion: more polyelectrolyte winds around the macroion than it is necess...

Light scattering, CD, and ligand binding studies of ferrihemoglobin-polyelectrolyte complexes.

Quasi-elastic light scattering (QELS), electrophoretic light scattering (ELS), CD spectroscopy, and azide binding titrations were used to study the complexation at pH 6.8 between ferrihemoglobin and three polyelectrolytes that varied in charge density and sign. Both QELS and ELS show that the structure of the soluble complex formed between ferrihemoglobin and poly(diallyldimethylammonium chlori...
